U21 Football Championship V O’Donovan Rossa
The U21A Football team got their Championship campaign underway on Saturday 18th March in Rosscarbery v O’Donovan Rossa. Clon came into the game as strong favourites against a youthful opposition. O’Donovan Rossa deployed a very defensive system in the early stages which Clon struggle to break down. Clon gradually dominated the first half to comfortably lead 0-07 to 0–2 at half time. Clon began the second half as they finished the first and a flicked goal from Paul O’Regan increased the lead 1-07 to 0-04. From here until the end of the game O’Donovan Rossa grew into the game and scored two goals to narrow the gap to 1-10 to 2-04. Clon were under pressure but held out to score a deserved win 1-12 to 2-06 and advance to play Ahane Gaels in the quarter final.
