Clon advance in Feile
On Saturday last six teams competed in the qualifying stages of the Feile hurling. Clon competed in the group stages along with Bandon and Ballinhassig. The day did not begin in a promising fashion as Clon were well beaten by Bandon 1-11 to 0-00. Knowing that a defeat would spell the end of their involvement in the competition Clon put in a much improved performance against Ballinhassig to win narrowly 2-03 to 2-02.
Clon advanced to the semi finals against a Ballinora side who had easily won their group. Clon were the better side in this game and boosted by well taken goals they won the game 4-06 to 1-06 to advance to the county stages in Fermoy. Ballinhassig defeated Ibane Geals in the other semi-final to advance along with Clon.
