Junior B Football team defeated by Bandon
The Junior B Football team took on Bandon in the opening round of the West Cork Championship on Sunday morning last in Ahiohill. Clon played against a strong breeze in the opening half and started brightly to stay level after the opening quarter. Bandon dominated the remainder of the half to lead 0-07 to 0-04 at half time.
Bandon extended their lead in the start of the second period. The introduction of substitutes and a well taken goal from the penalty spot sparked a late rally from Clon and brought them closer but they left themselves too much to do. Final score Bandon 0-15 Clonakilty 1-08. Clon will play Goleen in the second round with a date to be confirmed.
