Clon U21A Hurlers retain West Cork title
The U21A hurlers took on Kilbree in the West Cork final on Saturday 23rd September as they looked to retain their title. The game was played in a constant strong cross field wind and rain which spoiled the game as spectacle. The game was always likely to be low scoring as a result and this turned out to be the case.
The opening stages were evenly contested with Clon shading the opening half to narrowly lead at half time 0-06 to 0-05. The start of the second half saw the decisive score of the game as David Lowney goaled. From there Clon pushed ahead and increased their lead to run out decisive and deserving winners 1-12 to 0-08. Clon now advance to play Castleltyons in the County stages in the coming weeks.
