Chairmans Christmas Message

Christmas Message to our Members and Supporters

As we come to the end of another very busy year let us reflect on what has been achieved both on and off the fields of play and acknowledge the enormous amount of work by so many people in making this another successful year.

We thank all those who have contributed to our on-field activities, players, managers, mentors, parents and supporters for their time and energy. A special word of thanks to Paul Holland and to Eoin Ryan and Owen O’Mahony, who are stepping down this year, for their immense contribution to the development of our Senior Football panel.

We also thank all those who have contributed in so many other ways to the numerous arrays of Club activities and I am acutely aware that all too often too much was asked of too few. To you all we say you are a credit to yourselves, to our Club and to the community.

Our plan for 2018 is to continue to build a more integrated Club that will prosper for many years ahead based on a clear set of values and principles, to place the Club on a sound financial footing and to maintain our superb facilities for use, not just by our Club members but by the entire community. On the field of play we plan to continue to develop our players in both codes and to build on what was achieved last year at both adult and underage level.

To my fellow Officers for their vision, commitment and unrelenting work for the Club, huge and well-deserved thanks. To the Officers who have stepped down, John O Brien, James O Donovan and Colm Murnane I want to say thanks for your contribution and support. To our new Officers Aileen Collins, Conor O Callaghan and Timmy Anglin thanks for taking on the roles and the best of luck for the year ahead.

To my wife Ann and our family, thanks for the help, advise, support and understanding throughout the year.

Finally, I wish everybody a happy, peaceful, relaxed Christmas and a successful New Year.

Yours in sport

Ger McCarthy
