Yesterday was a very important day for Clonakilty Gaa as for the first time since the mid 1930’s a Cork adult team played Championship football in Clonakilty.

I am proud that we used the occasion to showcase our Club and to once again show that anything organised in Clonakilty will be done well.

A huge thanks to all our members who worked so hard in the lead up to the match and again yesterday and made this event a massive success. A special word has to go to Carmel and her helpers who prepared the meals for both teams, guests and stewards which was an enormous undertaking and also to John who had the place looking pristine.

Congratulations to Maurice Shanley on yet another great performance. He did himself, his family and our Club proud.
