Cian Holland Memorial football tournament 2020

Thanks to everybody who made it out to the Cian Holland football tournament yesterday, players, parents / guardians and invited guests.

Thanks to the members of Cian’s family and friends for taking the time to come over.

In the ever-developing new norm we now live in; we were delighted to be able to run the competition again this year, it is one of the most important underage club events every year. This event gives the boys involved a great insight into how lucky they are to be able to train and compete routinely with their friends.

Boys from age groups U14/15/16 came together to form Dublin / Cork / Kerry / Donegal teams. The football was excellent and very competitive with the Cork team, captained by Tomas O’Donobhain, coming through in the end – hopefully it will be a sign of things to come for the county season later in the year! Thanks to our club president Tom Aherne for taking the time to come out and present the trophy.

Thanks to the coaches of the groups involved for putting the work in to run the event.

Next weekend we have another very important morning in the underage club when we welcome our new group of U6 boys to the club. We strongly believe, the most important group in the underage club every year is the new U6 group – if this goes well, there will be no problem as they move up the age groups. We thought for a long time over the spring that we would not be able to get them out this year, so it is super now that we are set to go with them. We wish them all the best of luck with many years of enjoyment to look forward to in Clon GAA.

Thanks,

Colm Murnane.

Underage Chairman.
