Clonakilty U14 hurlers recorded a superb win in their opening league fixture of 2020 Vs Ahan Gaels in Enniskeane on last Thursday evening, on a score line of 1-11 to 1-08.rnThis was an extremely hard fought victory over the entire game, with both teams very even and competitive.
The entire Clonakilty team played outstanding for the 60 minutes led by Cal O'Mahony at full back and James Murnane at centre back. Our forwards capitalised on what chances came their way. Fergal Curtin finished off an excellent move to the net halfway through the second half to bring his scoring to 1-2 and with Des Kenneally (0-3 points from play) causing all sorts of problems closer to the goal, we managed to come out on top on this occasion. Shane O'Regan playing midfield also had a huge impact on the game.
Well done to both teams for a fine game of hurling.
