The Clonakilty U-14 boys had a comprehensive win over Sam Maguires in their league match in Ahamilla on Thursday evening. Two early goals from midfielder Shane O'Regan set the tone for a dominant team display, which was maintained until the final whistle, finishing Clonakilty 6-18 Sam Maguires 2-6.
Excellent forward play from James Murnane, Cal O'Mahony & Des Keneally throughout, as well as midfield duo Ryan O'Donnell & Shane O'Regan meant that the scoreboard was constantly changing but great credit must go the powerful defensive work of all the back line who were busier than the score might suggest.
Standout performances from Matt Murphy, Calem Harte and Seán Coffey on the half back line, made for a very difficult evening for the visitors. Next up is the all important final game of the group, away to Ibane Gaels on 27th August.
