Match Report: The U21A Football team took on St Michaels in the first round of the County U21A Championship in Brinny.  Clon got off to a very slow start and trailed by three points early on. Gradually Clon grew into the game and reduced the gap to a point after 15 minutes. The concession of two soft goals in quick succession meant that Clon trailed by seven points after 22 minutes ( 2-05 to 0-04). Some positional changes led to a transformation in the game and gave Clon a platform in the game. They ran constantly at St Michaels and caused them huge problems. A Liam O'Donovan sparked a revival a run of points before half team meant that Clon led at half time by two points 1-10 to 2-05. Clon continued their improvement in the second half and a Sean McEvoy goal extended their lead. Clon scored five points without reply to effectively kill the game as a contest . Despite a brief rally by St Michaels it was Clon who finished the strongest in torrential rain as they kicked the last two scores to seal an emphatic victory. It was a great turnaround after a bad start as Clon dominated the game for the last 40 minutes after playing some excellent football. They now advance to play Carrigaline in the quarter finals with a date to be confirmed.
