Match Report: The Senior Football team took on reigning county champions Carbery Rangers in Castlehaven on Sunday last 30th April.Going into the game as underdogs Clon matched their opponents for the opening minutes. Despite playing with a healthy wind advantage Clon were unable to make it count as Carbery Rangers bossed the majority of the opening half and had a commanding half time lead 1-06 to 0-02.Turning to face the wind in the second period a good start was vital to get back into the game. However, the opposite occurred as Carbery Rangers scored a goal in the opening minutes yo extend their lead. As the game went on they scored at will with very little in response from Clon. A well taken goal from John Leahy in the closing minutes was only a mere consolation as Carbery Rangers got a deserved victory 2 - 15 to 0-4.Clon will face Muskerry in the second round where another tough game awaits.
